Wednesday Night Basketball

Its been fun creating the Bobcats Gametime programs this season. I really enjoy the chance to theme them out like the Wednesday Night Basketball version above.

Hey guys, I was messing around with shadows and lighting tonight and decided to try the ole photoshop actions method. Its been awhile since I used this technique. I forgot how simple and quick it makes creating realistic shadows. Record the action you want, play it back, merge it, tweak it – DONE! In one step too. Actions are a good way of doing repetative tasks. Check out “HOCKEY” above

These are some web graphic concepts for the 5-GAME Pick Plan sales campaign. The ‘main window’ graphic (top) rotates with other lead stories on the homepage. A ticket button is included which hyperlinks to landing page where interested fans can learn more about the plan and even purchase tickets. The takeover graphic (bottom) is used at the top of home page where the pencil will drop down to open the full takeover ad. The pencil in this case is used as more a teaser to engage the visitor to click the drop down arrow in the top right to see more.¬†I used a dark backdrop with both of these graphics to really highlight the ‘energy’ brush marks and ‘Feel the Energy’ theme. Ticket plan info is simple and easy to digest.

Poster layout for a 5-GAME Pick Plan sales campaign. Simple brush marks create the energy marks surrounding Kemba inline with a ‘Feel the Energy’ theme. Large title and plan description and price demonstrate typographic hierarchy. The distribution of white space in this poster creates nice separation between the message and the image allowing for an easy read.

Kemba poster concept

Kemba Walker sepia-style poster created using 3 images of the Bobcats point guard including the large monumental¬†screaming photo centered and countered with two smaller photos (posed and action based). The composition of this layout with three unique poses really captures the likeness and emotion of Kemba Walker. Background was created with numerous photoshop brushes and a seamless wood floor texture was masked within his name. If you look closely, you’ll see I used part of the ‘M’ and ‘B’ in Kemba to showcase the number ’15”. A simple layer adjustment and drop shadow create enough separation to read the number, but still allow you to read “KEMBA’ as well.

Just finished the Cats 12/13 team poster. Combining actionshots with headshots. Created a seamless asphalt texture and clouds of smoke behind the players using various pshop brushes. The shadowing really makes this piece work.
